Websites

How long does a website take?

We send your first draft within 7 days of having your deposit and everything we need from you: your text or notes, services, fees, bios, photos and booking link. Our questionnaire walks you through it. After that, the timing depends mostly on how quickly you review drafts and reply.

How does paying for a website work?

You pay a 50% deposit when you sign, and we start your first draft once it's paid. When you've approved the final site, you pay the balance, and we publish your site on your domain once it's paid. Both are invoices you can pay online. The deposit isn't refundable: it reserves time in our schedule for your project and covers the planning and design work that starts right away.

How many rounds of changes do I get?

Four in total: 2 rounds on the drafts before launch, and 2 more within 14 days after your site goes live. A round is one set of changes, sent together in one message. Fixing our own mistakes never uses up a round. After that, changes start from $50, and we always give you a quote first.

What counts as a page?

A page is one separate web address on your site, such as your Home page or your Fees page. A team page counts as one page, however many bios are on it. Each page beyond your package is $100, plus $20 for each extra language on your site.

Can my site be in French or Chinese?

Yes. Alongside English, we can build your site in French, Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese, with a language switch on every page. Each extra language adds 20% to your package price. As with the English pages, you check every language before it goes live.

Do I own my site and domain?

Yes. You buy your domain in your own name, and your site is hosted on an account in your name. Your words and photos stay yours, and once your package is paid in full, the design and content we make for you are yours too. Until then, drafts are for review only. We send you a copy of your site files at launch.

Who hosts it?

You do, in your own name, with a host you choose or one we recommend. Our usual pick is free for a site like yours. You also buy your own domain (your web address). We set up the hosting and connect your domain for you. Changes after launch start from $50, and we'll always give you an estimate first.

Will my site show up on Google?

Every package includes basic Google indexing setup: we set up Google Search Console in your own Google account, submit a list of your pages and ask Google to index your main ones. This helps Google find your site soon after launch. Google alone decides whether, when and where it shows any page, so we can't promise indexing, a ranking or a number of visitors. It doesn't include ongoing search engine optimization or a Google Business Profile.

Which booking systems work?

Most health professionals already use a booking platform, such as Jane App, Owl Practice, SimplePractice or Cliniko. Every package includes a booking button that takes clients straight to your booking page. If you don't have one yet, we can talk through options on our call.

Can you redo my existing site?

Yes. We'll keep what's working, move your content across, and redirect your old page addresses so people and search engines can still find you.

Social media

Do I have to post the content myself?

No. Once a month you approve the month's batch, then we schedule and post it on your Facebook and Instagram pages. You give us access through Meta Business Suite, so you never share your password, and you can remove our access any time. Nothing goes out without your approval.

How does the monthly schedule work?

You get a Scheduling Date: a day of the month, shown on your Order Form. Seven days before it, we send you the whole month's batch to review, with the day each piece will go live. On your Scheduling Date, we schedule the pieces you've approved, and the first one goes live 7 days later. Pieces you haven't approved aren't posted.

Can I change a post once I've seen it?

Yes. Each monthly batch includes 2 rounds of changes. A change to a particular piece needs to reach us at least 10 days before that piece goes live. If something needs to come down for reasons of accuracy, privacy, safety or your college's rules, email us any time with “URGENT” in the subject line. That doesn't use up a round.

Which social media plan should I choose?

Light suits most solo practices: about three pieces a week keeps your pages active without much to review. Steady and Daily suit practices with more services, more practitioners or more to say. To change plans, tell us at least 14 days before your next Scheduling Date, and the new plan starts with that batch.

Do you answer comments and messages, or run ads?

No. We create, schedule and post your content on Facebook and Instagram. We don't read or answer comments or messages, or monitor your accounts, and we never pay for or boost posts on your behalf. Social media content is written in English.

Can I get social media management without a website from you?

Yes. Every plan works on its own, with your existing website. The free week of content comes with a website we build, and the first year of an annual plan includes a free Spark website (or $500 off Lantern or Hearth) if you'd like one.

How does the free week of social media content work?

When we build your website, we also create one week of custom social media content for your practice: 7 pieces, a mix of posts, stories and reels, delivered when your site launches. It's a gift, so it doesn't include rounds of changes. You post it yourself, or if you're on a plan, we schedule it once you approve. If you'd like more after that, you can start a plan any time.

Payments, cancelling and refunds

When am I billed for a monthly plan?

On the day you sign up, then automatically on the same day each month, through Stripe. There's no partial first month. You can pay by credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or pre-authorized debit from a Canadian bank account.

Is there a minimum, and how do I cancel?

Monthly plans have a 3-month minimum, at the same price throughout. After that, you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice, on your account page or by email. Your plan ends at the end of the billing month in which those 30 days end, and we still post the last batch in full. Payments already made aren't refunded.

Can I get a refund on an annual plan?

No. Annual plans are paid a year in advance and aren't refundable. If you'd rather keep things flexible, pay monthly: after the first 3 months, you can cancel with 30 days' notice.

Annual plans renew automatically each year. We email you at least 30 days before each renewal with the date and the price, and you can cancel any time before then.

What if I cancel a website project part-way?

You can cancel any time by email. We keep the deposit, and you owe nothing more. Because the draft isn't paid for in full, it stays ours and can't be used. If we're more than 14 days late with your first draft for reasons that are ours alone, you can cancel and we'll refund everything, including the deposit.

Do you charge GST/HST?

Not today. If we're ever required to, it will be added from the date the law requires and shown on your invoice or at checkout before you pay.

Rules and results

Do you guarantee my site meets my college's rules?

No one outside your college can promise that, so we don't. We do our homework: we read your college's advertising guidance, look up crisis resources for your area, and flag anything we're unsure about. You know your practice and your college best, so you're responsible for reviewing every page and confirming it's accurate and meets your college's rules before it goes live.

Can you promise more clients, followers or a higher Google ranking?

No. Those results depend on things no one controls, such as how Google and social platforms decide what to show, your location, your services and the season. What we do promise is to do the work in your agreement with care and skill, on the schedule it sets out, as long as you do your part.

Do you work with practices in my province?

Yes. We work with practices across Canada, from British Columbia to Newfoundland and Labrador. We read your regulatory college's advertising guidance and look up the crisis lines for your province or territory, then ask you to confirm both before launch.
