Privacy

Short version: this site doesn't track you, and it doesn't collect anything unless you choose to contact us.

What this site collects

Only what you type into our forms. There are no cookies, no analytics, no ads and no tracking pixels. When you send the contact form or the non-profit application, what you entered (such as your name, email address and message) goes to us by email.

What other services see

  • The web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
  • Formspree, a form service based in the United States, receives what you send through our forms and passes it on to us by email. It keeps a copy in our account, which we can delete. Formspree has its own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so your browser connects to Google's servers to download them. Google can see your IP address when that happens.

If you pay or subscribe

Payments are handled by Stripe, a payment company. When you choose to pay, your browser goes to Stripe's secure page, and your card details go to Stripe, not to us. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us your name, email address, what you bought and how much you paid, and we keep those records for our accounts as Canadian tax law requires (generally six years). Stripe has its own privacy policy. The Pay and Account pages do not run any tracking.

If you contact us

We use what you send only to reply to you and, if we work together, to run the project and keep business records. We don't sell or share it, and we don't add you to a mailing list.

Please don't include information about your clients. We never need it to build your site.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, unless we need to keep it for tax or legal reasons. Email hello@opendoorweb.ca.

We handle personal information in line with Canadian privacy law. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
